Meet Dr. Seung Yub Song
Dr. Song, known as “Dr. Yub” to his patients, first had the inspiration to enter the field of dentistry as a teen, when he was told of his childhood story. When he was only three or four years old, his dentist said they would have to extract all of his baby teeth due to decay. Being shocked and scared, his family decided to get a second opinion where the dentist suggested an alternative treatment plan that took the patient's age and anxiety into consideration. He was able to tolerate the new treatment plan and thanks to that, has healthy teeth up to today. This experience inspired Dr. Song to become a dentist so that he can follow a similar path, helping patients’ individual needs. Realizing how people fear going to the dentist, Dr. Song's focus is to make the experience more patient-friendly and comfortable.
Dr. Song attended SUNY Binghamton, where he majored in Mathematical Science and pre-dental studies. Afterwards, he went to New York University College of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
With more than a decade of experience working with children and adults, Dr. Song performs most procedures such as general dentistry (cleaning, fillings, and extractions), as well as root canals, implants, braces, and prosthetics. Through careful study of each patient's unique individual situation, Dr. Song develops a plan that is customized best to that patient. His goal is to establish strong long-term relationships with his patients, eventually building a dental home for them.
On a personal note, Dr. Song has a beautiful wife, who majored in classical voice. They are the proud parents of two kids: a son and a younger daughter. Dr. Song loves watching movies and enjoys watching/playing all types of sports. His family spends lots of time at the beach, which is one of the reasons why he fell in love with Connecticut. Norwalk is where he got married and two kids were born, making it a special place to him.
